It was in August 2017 that we began house sitting. As retirees enjoying travel this house sitting experience has transformed the way we now travel.
Why Do We Enjoy House And Pet Sitting?
It was on our first house sit that we simply enjoyed the company of much loved pets; appreciated staying in a home environment; embraced the opportunity to live like a local; and delighted in the benefits of slow travel bliss. And with each house and pet sit we have found the same.
We simply love the freedom and travel opportunities house and pet sitting offer us. Plus, we gain great satisfaction from giving home owners the freedom to travel; while knowing your pets and home are in safe hands. We see house and pet sitting as a WIN WIN situation for both the home owner and the house sitters.
We are current members of both Aussie House Sitters and Trusted House Sitters.
How Many House and Pet Sits Have We Completed.
To date, we’ve had the honour and pleasure of providing four home and pet care services to three families – one occasion being a return house sit.
As pet sitters we have cared for four cats and one bird. That’s five different temperaments and feeding styles. Plus, we have cared for lawns, vegetable and cottage gardens, and indoor plants.

We were approached by the Home Owner to House Sit, independent of any House Sitting Website. The Home Owner kindly left the following reference on the Trusted House Sitters.
It was a pleasure having Estelle and Greg housesit for us while we were overseas.
They were friendly and very easy to communicate with, meaning organising everything was smooth and seamless and we were confident we had left our house in good hands.
We returned to our home and it was just as we’d left it. Our plants had been well cared for.

Greg and Estelle were great to communicate with to organise our house sit. They were lovely when meeting them and we knew our home would be in safe hands! They looked after our house and cat Noo while we were overseas for two weeks. The place was spotless and the cat well cared for and happy on our return. They made the house sit very easy and carefree and even left a nice card for us. We would happily recommend Greg and Estelle and will have them again!

Greg and Estelle were the best possible first experience with Aussie House Sitters we could have. They were incredibly friendly and eager to do a great job of house sitting and when we arrived home the house was immaculate inside and out. And they had kindly left us a bowl of fruit and some flowers as a welcome home. They also left a detailed note about the animals and how they fared while we were away. I can not recommend them highly enough to any future home owners.
